4. Montee Ball-Denver Broncos

The Broncos had a three-headed running back rotation at the beginning of the season and clearly Knowshon Moreno has emerged as the lead back especially in terms of fantasy football for the Broncos. With Ronnie Hillman’s fumbles causing him to fall out of favor, Montee Ball has become the backup and has turned in some solid numbers when given the chance.

Last week, Ball rushed for 117 yards and three weeks ago he had a pair of touchdowns–both games against the Chiefs vaunted defense. He won’t face Kansas City again this season, but is worth a flex consideration since when he gets the chance he makes plays. The Broncos finish the season with the Titans, Chargers, Texans, and Raiders. There’s a good chance that in those games Denver will have put the game away early or be resting their starters. Since keeping Moreno fresh for the playoffs is critical to Denver’s success, I think we’ll see more of Ball in the coming weeks.

Denver’s matchups are also pretty favorable to fantasy backs, so Ball should find space if he gets the ball. Tennessee allows the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing RB’s, San Deigo has allowed eight rushing TDs in the last five weeks, Houston allowes the 13h-most fantasy points to opposing RB’s and gave up four TDs in the last three weeks, and Oakland gave up three rushing touchdowns to DeMarco Murray on Thanksgiving.

Ball is definitely worth owning and I think he’ll make a fantasy impact at some point in the next four weeks.
