Fantasy Player To Start This Week:

T.Y. Hilton – Wide Receiver – Indianapolis Colts

Hilton is probably at least owned in a majority of leagues, but if he’s not definitely scoop him up for this week’s matchup against the Chiefs. As a huge KC fan I can attest to just how poor their pass defense has been over the past month. They have been beaten deep repeatedly by good QBs. I think Eric Decker may have actually just scored another TD while I was typing this. Andrew Luck will have chances during this game where Hilton is lined up one on one on the outside with no safety help over the top. My guess is that he is able to connect on at least one long TD pass in this game, if not more. Even if Hilton only has one catch, if it’s for 70 yards and a TD, it makes him worth a start in most leagues. Heck, even Matt McGloin hit some long passes on the KC defense. Put Hilton in your starting line up this week and as an added bonus suggestion, I’d strongly consider starting Andrew Luck as well.

Beer Review Of The Week:

Holiday Cheer By Shiner

This holiday seasonal by Shiner (as in Shiner Bock) is a unique take on the winter beers that are out there at this time of year. It is definitely on the fruity end of the beer spectrum, but as fruit beers go, this is one of the better I’ve had. Here is the description from Shiner:

"This holiday dunkelweizen practically unwraps itself with hints of Texas peaches and pecans. Caramelized malts give it a uniquely rich malt body that’s perfect for the holidays."

The peaches definitely dominate the taste here, but I was impressed that it was a pretty authentic peach taste. I generally like dunkelwiezens, but for me the peaches overpowered the subtle wheat malts. They are there, but they’re definitely a secondary flavor. What really sold me on this was the subtle pecan taste in the finish. It rounded out this beer in a way that most fruit beers fail to pull off. While I don’t know that I would call it outstanding, I liked it a lot more than I was expecting to. Finally, this beer could really help you out if you have a wife or girlfriend like mine. If I’m stopping at the liquor store on the way to a holiday party and my wife says “Grab a six pack of something we can share” that often leaves me having to settle for something a little too watered down for my liking. However, the peach flavor of Holiday Cheer won her over and there is enough else going on that I can enjoy it much more than say a hard cider. So keep this one in mind for the next holiday party you’re heading to.

My Rating (1-10): 7.5

Random Thought Of The Week:

This week is more of a random question. For those of you athletes out there (or former athletes), what’s the deal with shin splints? I just recently started running to try and get in shape. For two months I’ve had no problems and now suddenly my left shin is killing me every time I try to run. Do I need to take a week off? Is it normal to have it in only one leg? Am I running “lopsided” and don’t realize it? Are my shoes the problem? I’ll take any advice I can get because it’s driving me crazy. I tried googling it, but I didn’t find any great answers. So help me out here Fansided readers.

I think that does it for this week. As usual, if you read something you loved, hated, or you think is just plain wrong, let me hear about it in the comments below. Until next week, find yourself a comfortable chair and enjoy some football.

Thanks for reading.
