Kevin Durant is one of the biggest stars in professional sports, so it’s not a surprise that people keep constant eyes on him at all times. This isn’t because we’re waiting for Durant to do something bad, rather it’s just the opposite as he’s such a stand up role model that it’s hard not to watch him.

But with constant watch comes the possibility that you can have a slip up and have it be noticed by everyone. This seemed to be the case for Durant on Thursday night when his official Twitter account tweeted out a picture of the NBA All-Star smoking something out of what looks to be a hookah.

The picture was quickly taken down and Durant went into cliché “I got hacked” mode almost immediately.

That was soon deleted and followed quickly by:

Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Nick Collison jumped to his defense, tweeted at the account Deadspin, the site which captured the photo forever and posted it for the world to see, and claimed Durant indeed was hacked. Collison states that at the time the tweet popped up in his timeline, he was staring right sat Durant in the TSA line.

Durant is a standup guy and no one is looking to publicly shame him here. But when one of the most popular players in the NBA tweets a picture of himself puffing out of a hookah — hacked or not — it’s noteworthy.
