Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and dished out four assists to lead the New York Knicks to a 98-96 overtime victory over the Phoenix Suns at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York Monday night.

Raymond Felton added 19 points for the Knicks, who have won their last five games.

Goran Dragic had a huge night, finishing with 28 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Suns while Leandro Barbosa showed he still has some gas left in the tank – he had 21 points on eight-of-15 shooting.

The Knicks entered the fourth quarter with a seven-point lead, but the Suns slowly erased the deficit, taking an 84-83 lead on Dragic’s layup with 5:50 to go. After Marcus Morris and Barbosa hit jumpers, the lead was five. The Knicks answered with a 9-2 run, taking a 92-90 lead on Felton’s three with 53 seconds left. Barbosa was able to draw a foul with one second left and knocked down both free throws to send the game to overtime.

In overtime, the Knicks scored six of the first seven points, held the Suns without a field goal and were able to hang on for the win.

Poor shooting was the story of this game. Anthony was just nine-of-24 from the field while Suns’ guard Gerald Green, who finished with four points and nine rebounds, was two-of-16 (!) from the field.

The Knicks are now 15-22 while the Suns are 21-16.
