NBA Trade: San Antonio Spurs trade Nando De Colo to the Toronto Raptors for Austin Daye
Another trade deadline blockbuster that just got in!
First, it was the Los Angeles Clippers dealing a 37-year old Antawn Jamison, who can barely play, to the Atlanta Hawks in an attempt to gain some relief from the luxury tax.
Now, the San Antonio Spurs have dealt point guard Nando De Colo to the Toronto Raptors for forward Austin Daye, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
De Colo, who was the 53rd overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft out of France, has been stashed in Europe in classic Spurs’ fashion. He joined the Spurs last year and played in 72 games, starting six. This season, he has an appeared in 26 games, making three starts. He is averaging 4.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 11.6 minutes per game.
Daye was also drafted in the 2009 draft. He was taken with the 15th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons. He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies last season and joined the Raptors this season. He has appeared in just eight games and is averaging 1.0 points in 4.1 minutes per game.
