Darren Sharper fired by NFL Network

After turning himself into the LAPD earlier this week, the broadcasting career of Darren Sharper has been temporarily ended as the former NFL player faces multiple rape charges in numerous states. According to CNN, Sharper has officially been terminated by NFL Network and i son longer employed by the league or the league-owned network.

It’s not surprising that the network would fire Sharper, as the severity of his case is not to be taken lightly. The alleged crimes committed by Sharper are heinous and could land the former Pro Bowl safety in prison for the rest of his life. His broadcasting career is the last thing on anyone’s mind, but his termination from NFL Network has made sure that the league is distanced as far as they can from Sharper.

What happens next to Sharper is unknown, as he’ currently going back to Louisiana to face two counts of rape but he’s under investigation for similar charges in Nevada, California and Arizona as well.

It’s been a dark fall for Sharper, and while he gave numerous year to the NFL, the league has distanced itself as far as they can from a man who may spend the rest of his life in prison.
