NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns envisioning signing LeBron James, trading for Kevin Love
By Josh Hill
Frank Sinatra once sang about dreaming the impossible dream and the Phoenix Suns may be taking that to heart. While the team has put together one of the finest seasons of the year when they were expected to do nothing but tank, the success has the team dreaming big, if not impossibly big.
According to Suns beat writer Paul Coro, Phoenix is going to be pursuing the best free agents available this offseason and that could mean the team making a run at LeBron James. As impossible as that may sound, Coro very accurately points out that the Suns can’t walk through doors they don’t knock first.
James coming to the Suns would then be followed by somehow acquiring Kevin Love — because at that point why the hell not. This dream scenario that Coro has conjured isn’t just his alone and it’s one that actually makes some sense if you think about it.
Adding James opens the door to Phoenix instantly becoming a free agent hot spot. Love has already been on the Suns radar and asking him to join LeBron James would seem like a no brainer. Of course, LeBron needs to first opt-out of his deal in Miami and then choose Phoenix over Los Angeles, New York and Chicago but it’s not completely impossible.
Then again, Coro cites signing James as being the work of a witch doctor and it would probably be easier for said witch doctor to resurrect Wilt Chamberlain than acquire LeBron James.
