There is plenty being made about this year’s incoming draft class, and with the draft less than 48 hours away the focus of the league is on the young players of the future. But while there’s a batch of soon-to-be pros hanging around the country right now, there are already a few players in the NFL already who are young stars on the rise and one of those guys is New York Jets cornerback Dee Milliner.

Milliner recently spoke about his future with the Jets and noted that he wants to be a shutdown cornerback who shadows No. 1 receivers.

Per the NY Daily News:

"“Yes I do,” Milliner told the Daily News. “I’ve got to go out there and take it as, ‘I’m the No. 1 guy, step up. Yeah I want to do that because the best receivers are going to get the ball, and you want balls thrown at you so you can make more plays on the ball.”"

The Jets drafted Milliner last year for this very reason so it’s nice to see that he’s on board with their plans. It’s not everyday that you find  shut down cornerback and there are only a handful in the league which proves it’s easier said than done. But the Jets have a great talent in Milliner and the desire to be the best he can be is clearly mutual.
