2014 NFL Draft: Day Two winners and losers
By Hayden Kane
Losers: Carolina Panthers
Coming off an exciting and unexpected run to the playoffs in 2013, the Panthers have holes everywhere on their roster. Up and down they have needs that must be addressed in short order.
You know what they don’t need? A defensive end. Yet for reasons unknown the Panthers selected defensive end Kony Ealy with the no. 60 pick.
Their biggest need on the roster is offensive tackle and Morgan Moses was sitting right there. To pick Moses in that spot would not have been reaching to fill a need; he is a talented player who is more than worthy of that slot in the draft.
In one of the more baffling moves of the night, the Panthers opted for Ealy instead. This appears to be the latest bump in a tough off-season in Carolina thus far.
