2. Chicago Bulls

Possible Assets: Nikola Mirotic, Taj Gibson, Mike Dunleavy, Carlos Boozer, Jimmy Butler, Tony Snell, 2014 NBA draft picks (16th, 20th)

The Bulls and Celtics are likely interchangeable here, depending on what you value most. While the Celtics have the better hand in regards to draft picks, the Bulls have the better hand in regards to current talent. Jared Sullinger and Kelly Olynyk are no competition to the players listed above. Gibson has proven he’s starting power forward talent in the playoffs, Jimmy Butler is the perfect defensive wing man, and Nikola Mirotic is expected to be a Kevin Love-like prospect. Tony Snell and Mike Dunleavy are huge wild cards here, but if there’s no reason either would be off the table if Flip Saunders asked for either.

Combine those three with the Bulls drafts picks this season and their picks of the future and this is a solid haul if the Wolves hope to immediately compete in the Western Conference upon trading Love. In the East, the Bulls open their championship window by banking on a trio of Derrick Rose, Kevin Love, and Joakim Noah. There’s no bigger “if” in the NBA than the health of Derrick Rose, but with the money invested in him, the Bulls are still hoping he can return to, at least, All-Star form.

With Carmelo Anthony a huge possibility, it may liken the Bulls chances to pursue Kevin Love, but there’s no doubt they’d catch the Timberwolves attention with these pieces.
