Tim Duncan gets called for technical foul vs. Thunder (GIF)

It’s not often that we see Tim Duncan get too physical, but his ‘how was that foul call on me’ expression is perhaps the most widely copied in all of sports. We saw that face again in Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as Duncan was called for a technical foul after Kevin Durant hit the hardwood following a bump from Spurs big man.
The foul itself is almost irrelevant because Duncan’s ‘I’m innocent’ face is just the best thing ever.
The Spurs are up in the series and they are looking to widen their lead over the Thunder tonight, but it’s clearly a series that isn’t all join the Spurs way. San Antonio is a physical team, but they rarely get too physical for the officials’ liking. That happened tonight though and while it may not have a major outcome on the game, the officials are going to make sure this series stays within the boundaries of sanity.
After all, the Thudner have been known to get incredibly feisty when they get in a drought, and we saw both the Grizzlies and the Clippers give in to their anger and lash out at times that ended up hurting them. That’s not the Spurs style, and this will likely serve as a warning not to get too out of hand, even if you’re not trying to.
