The mistaken Comiskey Park mural has been erased from the brick outer wall of Wrigley Field. Well, mostly erased.

In commemoration of Wrigley’s 100th birthday the Cubs had a bunch of these murals painted on the walls depicting great moments in the ballpark’s rich and storied history. One of the paintings showed American hero Charles Lindbergh purportedly visiting the ballpark in the early ’30s.

Unfortunately, once historians got a good look at the art, they were able to point out that the photograph used to create the mural was actually taken in Comiskey Park, the former home of the White Sox.

A bit embarrassing for the Cubs to have a Comiskey Park mural emblazoned on the wall of Wrigley Field. They don’t even recognize their own ballpark?

The Cubs have dealt with the problem the only sensible way. They have completely destroyed the irksome art. Now there are just blank bricks. They need to paint something over those bricks quick.

Might I suggest a painting of Sammy Sosa?

Oh, sorry Cubs, sore subject there. I know you don’t want to admit that Sammy Sosa even exists. He did nothing for the franchise those years he was there.

Karma, it is a b-word.
