Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of attending a Cirque du Soleil show live knows that they put on one of the most brilliant and visually stunning performances imaginable. The same thing can be said about James Cameron’s blockbuster hit Avatar which is still the number one grossing movie in the world, earning over $2.78 billion dollars at the Box Office.

It would make perfect sense for these two sides to come together into one amazing project.

The good news is, it appears that this may actually be coming into fruition a lot sooner than you would imagine.

According to CNW in Canada, both the President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Daniel Lamarre and Avatar director James Cameron announced their partnership to create an Avatar-themed live touring show set to kick off sometime in late 2015.

This means that the new show will get rolling just about a year prior to the release of the upcoming second installment in Cameron’s Avatar saga which is set to be released in December of 2016.

CNW is also reporting that Twentieth Century Fox, the studio behind the Avatar films is also a partner on the project.

The official announcement was made C2MTL– Commerce + Creativity Conference in Montreal.

It was there that CNW sites Cameron as expressing his excitement about the new show and praises the talent of those behind Cirque du Soleil.

"“Over the years, I have discovered the extraordinary talents and imaginations of both the artists and the creative forces behind Cirque du Soleil,” Cameron said. “I know we share the common goal of bringing audiences to another level of entertainment experiences.  I look forward to doing just that on this project.”"

I can’t speak for everyone; however, I personally will be one of the first people standing in line to get tickets to this show should it find its way to my town. Avatar was one of the most visually stunning movies that I have ever seen, and Cirque du Soleil has always deliver top tier performances. This means, whether you are a fan of Cirque du Soleil, Avatar, or even both, you are in for one wild and amazing ride.
