The 16-time world champion appeared on a South Carolina news cast to talk an upcoming independent appearance. However, when the conversation shifted to his daughter, Flair couldn’t hold back his emotion.

Flair’s daughter, who goes by the ring name Charlotte, competes in the WWE developmental territory, known as NXT. During the special event, entitled “NXT Takeover,” she managed to win the NXT Diva’s title in a match with Natalya, who many fans outside of wrestling may know as the niece of Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

Both Flair and Hart were ringside for the match, which has received rave reviews, and is being considered an instant classic. Even more impressive, was that Charlotte had her first televised match just ten months ago. Flair would go on to say that his daughter accomplished more in one night than he had in his career, and it was the proudest moment of his professional career.

Flair also had two sons who had wrestled previously. David competed in WCW from 1999-2001, capturing the company’s United States and World Tag Team titles. However, WCW’s use of David was not received well by most fans, who felt he was nowhere near ready to perform on such a stage. After WCW folded, David wrestled in WWE’s former developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. After being released, he competed in TNA wrestling until 2003, before leaving.

Reid Flair, Ric’s other son, was also formerly contracted to the WWE, but experienced an unfortunate battle with drug addition, which he succumbed to last year. It’s obvious that Ric has experienced an emotional roller coaster throughout the last several years, with it all coming to a head last week.
