11. Los Angeles Galaxy

Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy are left wondering, when are we going to get our scoring mojo back? Of course, it didn’t help that Omar Gonzalez wasn’t on the team, but the lack of Robbie Keane and more naughty play from Leonardo cost the Galaxy in their 1-1 draw with Chivas USA at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. The silver lining to all this: Gyasi Zardes scored in the 35th minute of play.

If Los Angeles are to progress in the U.S. Open Cup, then every match must be treated like an MLS game. Anything less than a full side against Arizona United at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Ariz. on June 18 is a recipe for a quick elimination. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET.

12. FC Dallas

Goals from Andres Escobar (33′), Zach Loyd (45′ + 2′) and Fabian Castillo (62′) paced Oscar Pareja’s FC Dallas to a huge, breakthrough 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids at Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas continue their season on June 11 against the Portland Timbers at Providence Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT/10 p.m. ET and will be televised by ESPN2.

13. Sporting Kansas City

Peter Vermes’s Sporting Kansas City are on the way up after a 2-0 shutout win over the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Tex. What makes win even more impressive is that for most of the contest, Sporting were down a man after Toni got sent off in the 21st minute of play. Soony Saad (45′) and Dominic Dwyer (70′) scored for Sporting Kansas City, who host Minnesota United on June 18 at Sporting Park in the U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT/8:30 p.m. ET.

14. San Jose Earthquakes

Mark Watson’s San Jose Earthquakes were left confounded by Toronto FC at BMO Field in their 1-0 defeat, and it will not get easier as they face one of the premier, albeit new, lower-league teams in America in Sacramento Republic at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco, Calif. on June 11 in the U.S. Open Cup. Oh yeah, and Sac Rep are a sister club to the Quakes. Hey, more intrigue is good, right? Yes… Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET.

15. New England Revolution

Jay Heaps’s New England Revolution fell flat on their face in a 2-0 defeat to the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium and will hope to get back to form on June 18 against the Richmond Kickers at City Stadium in Richmond, Va. in the U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
