The Armchair Quarterback’s 2014 Quarterback Rankings

This week I’m doing a little something different from the typical Armchair Quarterback Column. I wanted to do some kind of QB rankings, but wasn’t originally sure how I wanted to go about it. Most talented, best guy to build a team around, most likely to have a good 2014 season? There are a lot of different ways you could do it.

  • As usual, I probably over thought things, but here’s what I came up with…

Pretend you and 31 other diehard NFL fans were all abducted along with every single NFL player (don’t worry about how that could happen, it’s not important). Your kidnappers have you and the other NFL fans draft 32 teams like a giant real life fantasy draft. Your teams will then play a full NFL season and playoffs until a champion is crowned. The fan who’s team wins gets $1 million dollars and is set free. The other 31 owners stay prisoners of the kidnappers for the rest of their lives.

Given that scenario I made the following QB rankings.

For each spot I based it on who I would draft as my QB in that spot if it was my turn to pick and all the QBs above that spot were off the board. Who would I trust to give me the best chance to win it all for that one season with my freedom on the line?

For the sake of argument, assume that all 32 “owners” know what they’re doing and the teams are going to be relatively even in terms of all around talent. If I was put in that situation, here is my list.
