The Miami Heat are on the verge of making history by not making history as they are just four quarters away from possibly losing out on the coveted three-peat they’ve been chasing since 2010. All the work that has been done since 2011 could unravel if the Heat lose Game 5 to the Spurs on Sunday night and as a result hte team is focused on winning.

They’re not just focused — the Heat are laser focused on winning Game 5 and that’s being proven in just how dark they’re willing to be in their pregame rituals. Rather than keep things light, the Heat are getting mysterious to the point where Dwyane Wade has painted his toe nails black.

Wade painting his toe nails black opens him up to a lot of hate from fans hoping the Heat lose, but it’s not the weirdest thing we’ve seen when it comes to pregame superstitions. Just about everyone who has ever played sports has at one point in time pondered the idea of superstition playing a role in their game and Wade is just embracing it a little more than the rest.

Then again, all he’s doing is painting his toenails black which will hardly help him improve his game unless there’s a little magic in that polish.
