Miami Heat superstar LeBron James has opted out of his contract and is officially a free agent. In all likelihood, it is the first step in all three of Miami’s superstar trio opting out to reschedule their contracts and bring a bit of financial flexibility to the Heat.

But James will entertain offers and could be swayed to leave South Beach. The front runner might be a return to Cleveland, where James is from and where he started his career with the Cavaliers.

According to Sam Amico, an NBA columnist and TV analyst for FOX Sports and FOX Sports Ohio, reports that a promise to bring Cleveland an NBA Championship has been weighing on his mind.

It’d be an interesting story to see James return to Cleveland to bring the Cavaliers an NBA championship. The Cavaliers have a young star in Kyrie Irving and the first round pick in this year’s draft.

Amico reports the Cavaliers will do everything they can to try and bring LeBron James back to Cleveland and even considering adding Carmelo Anthony.

Hard to imagine someone who has spent the past couple years living in Miami moving back to Cleveland, but it is home to James. The key is if he can get another superstar to join him in Cleveland.
