Los Angeles Clippers

Despite the fact that Doc Rivers and the Clippers entered the night with only one draft pick (number 28 overall), there was a decent amount of optimism surrounding their outlook. Late first rounders in this draft had the possibility of becoming real rotation players somewhere in the near future, but when the Clips selected former Washington swingman C.J. Wilcox, the air was let out of the balloon to some degree.

First, Wilcox should be considered a bit of a reach in the late first round, and secondly, the 6-foot-5 swingman appears to be in the same mold as 2013 first round pick Reggie Bullock in that he is a shooter first and foremost. In a vacuum, too much shooting is never a bad thing, but when Los Angeles employs guys like J.J. Redick in front of him, there was probably a need to address elsewhere.
