Toronto Raptors

In the interest of full disclosure, I had never heard of Brazilian forward Bruno Caboclo until Thursday night. For someone who covers the draft process extensively, that is a terrifying thought for the 20th overall pick. Still, Masai Ujiri made him the selection, and while he appears to be insanely raw, there is pure physical talent there that is somewhat projectable.

Later in the night, the Raptors took another high upside player in UConn’s DeAndre Daniels, but he likely made a mistake by leaving Kevin Ollie‘s program early. Daniels is a player with elite physical tools, but they don’t shine through on the court on a consistent basis, and as a result, he is a hit-or-miss player in this year’s class. Daniels certainly isn’t a negative with a second round pick, but when you do what Toronto did in the first round, he can’t save you.
