Bucks never offered Jason Kidd job as president
A source close to the Milwaukee Bucks, Jason Kidd, situation has said that Kidd was never offered a front office position, only coaching.
Over the last 24 hours, the story was broken that head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, Jason Kidd, wanted more say in the Nets basketball operations. When Kidd was denied his request to be not only the head coach but president of basketball operations as well, the two parties reached an impasse. It was then reported that the Bucks had received permission to speak to and offer Kidd that role. However, it looks like the Bucks are only interested in Kidd being their head coach. It’s strange to see a story move this quickly. However, with free agency only a few days away it makes sense for a team considering a massive change like this wants to resolve it quickly. The end to this entire saga should be over soon.
While the Bucks have every right to remove current head coach Larry Drew after their disaster last season. They need to consider what they’re getting themselves into. Kidd has shown a tendency of wanting to take on large roles quickly. He went straight from a player to a coach, and he just tried to take over all basketball related operations in Brooklyn. If they choose to hire Kidd, they need to be weary of this. At the moment however, it looks like they’re doing their due diligence.
