1. …Who Could Sustain That Success For Years

The best part of this LeBron James-to-Phoenix pipe dream is that winning one championship would be setting the bar low. Unlike Miami, the Suns are built on talented, young pieces and have a TON of future assets in the form of draft picks. Phoenix has three first round picks in next year’s draft, with one being a top-five protected pick from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Those picks could be used as parts of trades to bring in more veteran free agents or they could be used to add young talent, and you can be guaranteed LeBron James would get his say on that one. Dragic is 28 years old, Bledsoe is only 24 and the only players on the roster last season older than 29 were Channing Frye, Leandro Barbosa and Emeka Okafor.

After taking T.J. Warren, Tyler Ennis, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Alec Brown in the 2014 NBA Draft, Phoenix’s roster is pretty full at the moment, but it’s absolutely bursting with young talent and potential. We can’t forget that Archie Goodwin and Alex Len are two other guys who haven’t been able to show what they can do yet. Dragic and Bledsoe are barely entering their primes now. Markieff Morris was a serious Sixth Man of the Year candidate. This team is LOADED for the future.

For a guy like LeBron James, who’s most concerned with joining a team that gives him the best chance to win multiple championships, the Phoenix Suns are an ideal location. LeBron and Melo joining the Suns would not only make them contenders this year, but for years to come.
