The NBA offseason is upon us and that means it’s time to start looking at which players will be returning to their teams next year and which ones will be opting out. Today is the deadline for players with pending options to make a decision and there will be plenty of action to pay attention to on that front as the day presses on.

More from Houston Rockets

Believe it or not there are other teams in the NBA with pending player options, not just the Miami Heat, and the Houston Rocket are one of those teams. Not every player with a pending option is LeBron James but that won’t stop many of them from opting out, which seems to be the case with veteran guard Francisco Gracia.

“Francisco Garcia has told team he is opting out, also as expected,” according to Jonahtan Feigen from the Houston Chronicle. “He can return, much as he did last season.”

Garcia isn’t a slam dunk name that every basketball fan will be following closely to see where he lands, but he’s a name that you wouldn’t mind having on your team. He’s the type of player who can be excellent padding to a contending team’s roster and that’s what Garcia is banking on in opting out with the Rockets.

It’s unclear who will show an interest in the guard but he will no doubt be getting some attention form some big teams and a return to the Rockets is most definitely not out of the question in the slightest.
