There are better teammates available than Bosh-Wade-etc.

The NBA Finals showed us that just having LeBron James isn’t enough. Not often do you see LeBron drop 17 and 19-point quarters, rarely cutting into the score deficit in the process. Bosh underperformed versus San Antonio, Wade underperformed versus San Antonio, and the reserve unit was so bad, Erik Spoelstra attempted to pull the Michael Beasley trump card in Game 5 of the Finals.

If we recall why James bolted from Cleveland to Miami, the supporting cast was the number one reason and he may find himself in a similar situation this summer: the previous team not having enough and other teams being perfectly suited for arrival from the King.

In Houston, James would be paired with the best center in the NBA in Dwight Howard and the best shooting guard in James Harden. With Dwight protecting the rim, James won’t be forced to exert a ton of energy on defense, and with Harden in the fold, he won’t have to worry about solely carrying the offense. And depending on the deal he takes, there’s a huge chance Chandler Parsons could remain with the team.

In Phoenix, James and another top free agent, possibly Bosh or Carmelo, could join up with Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, and Jeff Hornacek on one of the best up-and-coming teams in the NBA. It also matters that the Phoenix Suns’ training staff could keep James in prime shape up until his late thirties.

Los Angeles has Chris Paul, Doc Rivers, and Blake Griffin. There is little to no doubt that trio would be the best in the league, and with the Clippers one piece away from becoming to kings of the West, they become a viable destination for James.

Golden State has Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, and Andrew Bogut. Cleveland has Kyrie Irving, Andrew Wiggins, and three 1st round picks in 2015. Chicago has “Derrick Rose”, Tom Thibodeau, and Joakim Noah. Hell, even pairing up with Anthony Davis in New Orleans would be a frightening scene.
