The Armchair Quarterback’s Guide To The NFL: Evolution of the TE
The Armchair Quarterback’s Beer Review Of The Week
Samuel Smith’s Taddy Porter
If you’ve been reading my beer reviews on a regular basis you know I’m a sucker for just about anything Samuel Smith’s brews and their Taddy Porter is no exception. Their Oatmeal Stout is one of my favorite beers of all time (if not THE favorite). I’ve also reviewed their Nut Brown Ale and India Ale, but I think next to the Oatmeal Stout the Taddy Porter is a close number two when it comes to Samuel Smith’s Brewery. For those that don’t know, Samuel Smith’s is an English Brewery that dates all the way back to 1758. The Taddy Porter is one of the best porters I’ve ever had. Normally, I prefer stouts to porters, but this porter is better than many of the stouts that I’ve tried over the years. First off, it’s very smooth and easy to drink for a dark beer. However, that’s not because it’s weak or lacks flavor. The way Samuel Smith’s manages to give this beer a nice full mouth feel with a great dark roasted malty flavor and yet is still so smooth and easy drinking is really impressive. I recommend this beer to both fans of dark beers and those that are new to craft beers and might want to try a dark beer for the first time. There are hints of dark chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, and of course lots of roasted malt. Highly recommended!
My Rating (1-10): 9.5
That does it for the Armchair Quarterback this week. I know the NFL dead season is taxing, but the countdown to training camps starting is on and football will be back soon.
Thanks for reading.
