Chicago Bulls

Could this be the “I’m Going Home” summer in the NBA? LeBron has gone home. Anthony could go back home in New York. Bosh almost went back to his home state of Texas. It’s all set up for Wade to return to his hometown of Chicago.

This scenario is only possible if Anthony does re-sign with the Knicks, which is what I expect to happen, especially after LeBron’s move back to Cleveland. Wade would be an interesting piece in Chicago. I don’t know how exactly he fits with Derrick Rose in the backcourt, as neither are elite outside shooters and each generate most of their points off driving and slashing. The Bulls desperately need scoring, but are we sure Wade can help carry a scoring load for an entire season?

This season, Wade missed 28 games to injury/rest to keep him fresh for the playoffs, which ultimately turned out not to work as good as the Heat had hoped, as you know. It’d also be interesting to see Wade on a Tom Thibodeau coached team, as Thibs is notorious for playing players too many minutes. Wade would fit in with Chicago’s offense, you know, because the Bulls don’t really have an offense. Wade could at least contribute 15 points per game, which is exactly what the Bulls are missing right now.

I don’t know if Wade wants to go to Chicago. He definitely wants another ring, but Miami’s been Wade’s home since he entered the league. I don’t see Wade chasing rings at this point in his career. Chicago is incredibly intriguing and a major threat to steal Wade from Miami.
