NFL Power Rankings: Pre-training camp edition
2. San Francisco 49ers
I’ve seen other NFL Power Rankings that have the Broncos in this #2 spot, but while Denver was dismantled by Seattle on a neutral field the 49ers pushed them to the final drive on the road in Seattle. While I have some questions about Colin Kaepernick and the age of some of their players, the 49ers have done such a fantastic job of acquiring quality depth that it seems safe to assume they’ll be an elite team again this season even if it involves some new faces taking on bigger roles.
1. Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks won the Super Bowl last year in convincing fashion. In fact, on their way to their Super Bowl title they defeated three of the other teams that are in the top five of these rankings in the playoffs. With Seattle returning most of their key players they deserve this top spot until someone comes along and proves on the field that they deserve it more. While it will be hard to repeat coming out of the loaded NFC (I have 7 of the top 10 in these rankings out of the NFC), their roster is deep enough that it seems safe to assume they’ll be one of the NFL’s best again this season.
Well, that does it. I’m sure these rankings have probably upset a few fan bases. What teams are too high? What teams are too low? If you think I’ve got it all wrong please feel free to let me know in the comments below.
