Even the draft went incredibly well for the Hornets which lays down a hopeful foundation for the future. But while the likes of P.J. Hairston, Noah Vonleh and Lance Stephenson were added to the roster in the offseason, the Hornets still have work to do and part of that is finding center depth on the veteran free agent market.
According to Rick Bonell from the Charlotte Observer, the Hornets are looking at bringing on a third center at the veteran minimum to simply add depth behind Bismack Biyombo and Al Jefferson.
Such a move makes a lot of sense for the Hornets as they were hit had by a lack of depth behind Jefferson in the postseason when Miami picked them apart followinf his foot injury and while his offense wasn’t replicated, and won’t be with a veteran signing, the Hornets can still have peace of mind if there’s a backup center sitting somewhere on the depth chart.
