4. Goran Dragic:

2013-14 Stat Line: 76 games, 35.1 MPG, 20.3 PPG, 5.9 APG, 3.2 RPG, 1.4 SPG, .505/.408/.760 shooting, 21.4 PER

Unless you paid close attention in 2013-14, you might be surprised to see Goran Dragic this high up the list. But the Dragon joined Lillard on the All-NBA Third Team and probably should have been Second Team over Tony Parker. Dragic posted the highest Player Efficiency Rating, field goal percentage and three-point percentage of any point guard we’ve covered thus far.

At 27 years old, the Dragon is in his prime right now, which means this list will look a lot different a few years down the road. But Dragic’s breakout season in which he earned the NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year Award shouldn’t be ignored, especially since he was the most egregious All-Star snub this year. Dragic was also one of only two players to post at least 20 points, 5.5 assists and shoot 50 percent from the field. The other two? LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Dragic was the heartbeat of the Suns’ offense and worked seamlessly in the backcourt with Eric Bledsoe when he was healthy. His court vision, his his work in the pick and pop and his constant threat as a one-man fast break made him one of the best fundamental point guards in the NBA last season and with another year under his belt and a better supporting cast, only injuries can derail the Phoenix Suns from a playoff appearance this season.
