San Antonio has the Alamo Dome

With the Raiders’ lease expiring at the end of this year in Oakland, if they are going to move, they need to move to a city that already has a stadium that can be used until a new stadium can be built.

San Antonio has the Alamo Dome which can be used in the meantime. If necessary upgrades are made (including adding more luxury suits), the stadium could be ready to host an NFL team as early as the 2015 season.

As far as the NFL is concerned, 24 of 32 owners would have to approve the relocation. The league’s senior vice president, Greg Aiello, offered little insight on the possible move:

"“We don’t have any information about (Davis’ meeting in San Antonio), so there is no reason for us to comment. We have received no applications from any of our teams to relocate at this point, so there is nothing for us to respond to.”"

You have to believe the NFL would not be in favor of moving a team from one of its largest markets, to what would be one of its smallest markets, however the NFL works anywhere. Not to mention that Texans love their football.

Stay tuned, as the Raiders’ future home figures to be a hot topic in the NFL all season long.
