3. The Secondary

The secondary for the Green Bay Packers has gotten better.

Cornerback Sam Shields recorded four interceptions last season and helped the secondary remain well. Being the workhorse that he is, Shields caused offenses to have problems throwing to his side since he is so relentless with his effort. Last year he gave the wide receivers he matched up against have migraines, as he also had 16 pass deflections.

As for the safety position, the Packers have also addressed that need by drafting Safety Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix from Alabama.

Since Clinton-Dix can play either safety position, the stud safety will be used in a myriad of ways. What makes Clinton-Dix special is his ability to stop the run. He anticipates rushing attempts well, and can cause backfield losses and excel in run stopping. Also, Dix this season will be assigned to guard the slot receivers on offense from time to time. His versatility only helps plug up a big gap for the pass defense of the Packers.
