“I’m Flexin” by T.I., Recommended for Dan Gilbert

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had one hell of a summer.

After losing a whopping 215 games since LeBron James’ departure in the summer of 2010, the franchise wound up with the number one pick in the most loaded draft class in recent memory – which they used on the top prospect, Andrew Wiggins – and if that wasn’t enough, the best basketball player in the world just so happened to decide that, after winning two championships in four years in sunny Florida, it was time to play hero and head back home.

The best part about it all, though, is that this wasn’t by design. None of it was. The odds of the Cavaliers nabbing the top pick this offseason were minuscule and the odds of them getting three number one overall picks in the last four years were, give or take, one in a million.

Nevertheless, despite all the loses, poor decisions and one very angry letter from the team’s owner, the Cavaliers are back on the rise because they’re stacked to the brim with young talent and have the most dominant player of this generation at the helm. Oh, and it looks like they may be shipping young Wiggins off to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a perennial all-star in Kevin Love within the next month or so, which won’t do much other than make them immediate title contenders.

It’s a good time to be a Cavaliers fan, and it’s an even better time to be Dan Gilbert, who, for all we know, is spending his summer blaring “I’m Flexin” in his office, popping bottles after bottles of expensive champagne because his life just got a whole lot better after four years of misery. And, hell, he deserves it, even if he might just be the luckiest man alive.

Live it up, Dan. Keep flexin’ on the haters.
