2. Klay Thompson:

2013-14 Stat Line: 81 games, 35.4 MPG, 18.4 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 2.2 APG, 0.9 SPG, .444/.417/.795 shooting, 14.3 PER

Klay Thompson has unfairly taken a hit in the past few weeks thanks to all the ridicule the Golden State Warriors are receiving for not including him in a trade package for Kevin Love, but make no mistake: Thompson is already one of the league’s best two-way shooting guards. Even our No. 1 guy on the list can’t claim that he brings the same value on both ends of the floor.

However, outside of scoring and improving perimeter defense, Thompson is a pretty average NBA player right now. Even his scoring is very one-dimensional, since most of his points come from beyond the three-point line. That’s an extremely efficient area of the floor for Thompson, but he still needs to improve when he puts the ball on the floor and it’d also be nice if he wasn’t such a black hole every time he touches the ball on offense.

That being said, Thompson and Stephen Curry formed the league’s best backcourt in 2013-14 and the Dubs certainly appreciated the point production he brought night in and night out. Now that it appears Thompson will be staying with the Warriors, Golden State fans can look forward to the Splash Brothers lighting up opponents’ baskets for years to come, especially once Thompson gets a max contract (he probably doesn’t deserve).
