2012 NFL Draft

No. 5 – Justin Blackmon – Jacksonville Jaguars – 64 rec, 865 yards, 5 TDs

No. 13 – Michael Floyd – Arizona Cardinals – 45 rec, 562 yards, 2 TDs

No. 20 – Kendall Wright – Tennessee Titans – 64 rec, 626 yards, 4 TDs

No. 30 – A.J. Jenkins – San Francisco 49ers – 0 rec, 0 yards, 0 TDs

The 2012 NFL Draft provided a mixed bag of first round wide receivers. A.J. Jenkins is the clear bust of this group. While he is at least in a position to earn a roster spot on his second team (unlike Baldwin) he simply hasn’t produced enough on the field yet to validate any sort of draft pick, let alone a first rounder.

Justin Blackmon may end up being a wasted draft pick because of his personal issues, but it won’t be because of a lack of talent. His rookie stat line of 64 receptions, 865 yards, and 5 TDs is arguably the third best rookie season during this time span behind Green and Jones.

Kendall Wright and Michael Floyd both put up solid rookie seasons and are key weapons in both of their perspective offenses. While they may not be household names, they have done enough early in their careers to justify their first round draft selections.
