2013 NFL Draft

No. 8 – Tavon Austin – St. Louis Rams – 40 rec, 418 yards, 4 TDs

No. 27 – DeAndre Hopkins – Houston Texans – 52 rec, 802 yards, 2 TDs

No. 29 – Cordarrelle Patterson – Minnesota Vikings – 45 rec, 469 yards, 4 TDs

All three of the first round wide receivers from the 2013 NFL Draft showed real potential to become big time playmakers during their rookie seasons. While none of them put up top rookie numbers in receptions, yards, or TDs, they all produced enough to make their teams believe that they will become the players that they were drafted to be.

Hopkins’ 802 yards were actually the fourth most by a wide receiver during this time period. Also worth noting is that all three of these players are explosive enough that when looking at their overall value one has to take into account their kick return abilities as well as designed running plays their teams may use on offense. All three of these players are looking to take another step forward this year in their second season.
