Top 5 questions regarding a Los Angeles Rams NFL return
3. Is Kroenke’s 60 acre partial adjacent to LAX truly feasible for a stadium and parking?
L.A. Sports Hub’s, Jason Gold:
"“An NFL Stadium on the Hollywood Park site has been rumored for years and Kroenke’s purchase only fueled the fire. However, the land he currently owns is much too small for an NFL venue, plus the league and the city are concerned about how an NFL Stadium, what with it’s 3-4 decks, would interfere with flight patterns into LAX, which is incredibly close by. I don’t think Kroenke is using LA as leverage with this particular deal, but certainly the looming presence of Los Angeles has helped plenty of teams (Read: At least 8) get new NFL Stadiums.”"
So while the size of the lot is plenty big, the overall depth may turn out to be an issue.
This same area of land is also the same parcel that former Raiders owner Al Davis looked at when he began the relocation process for the Oakland Raiders in the 1980’s. It’s quite possible that Davis may have been faced with this same issue when he explored his interest in this site.
