NFL Rankings: 10 best running backs in the league
By Brad Rowland
6) Arian Foster, Houston Texans
The NFL world is seemingly down on Arian Foster, but I’m not sure why. His team, the Houston Texans, were an epic disaster at 2-14 during the 2013 campaign, and Foster himself battled consistent injury questions while only appearing in eight games and toting the rock only 121 times. Prior to that, though, the former Tennessee running back was the picture of consistency over three seasons, and there is no reason to suggest that his physical skills have evaporated.
Foster probably won’t replicate the 66-catch season he produced during his first full season as a starter in 2010, but he is quality receiver out of the backfield who always displays quality vision down the field. From a speed perspective, he has never been at the top of the league (which was a chief reason why he went undrafted), but he more than makes up for that shortcoming with power and the ability to find holes quickly and decisively.
With Ben Tate gone, Foster is poised to carry a full workload in Houston again, and if he can avoid injury, another productive season will follow.
