The Tennessee Titans lost Chris Johnson this offseason to the New York Jets, but they’re too busy searching for their running back of the future to miss him too much.

That running back of the future will be one of two guys, as Shonn Greene and Bishop Sankey are going to battle it out as a tandem to see who the superior back is. That battle took a bit of a tilt on Friday night though, as Greene was on the receiving end of a shot by Kenny Vaccaro and had to leave the game.

What this injury really means is that rookie Bishop Sankey is going to get some playing time in the near future and that could be bad for Greene. The Titans really don’t have a starting running back at the moment, and while Greene is a solid option, Sankey could use an injury as an opportunity to overtake the lead and assume the starting role.
That’s assuming that Greene misses enough time to make that scenario possible, but with Chris Johnson gone, the Titans running back role is as wide open as it’s ever been.
