Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There are two concerns about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers—offensive line and quarterback.

After a pretty disastrous game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Buccaneers offensive line rebounded for the most part against the Miami Dolphins.

When Carl Nicks suddenly retired back in July, it left a sizable hole at guard. While the team has thrown Oniel Cousins and Patrick Omameh in at the guard positions, they are still clearly a work in progress, as is the whole offensive line.

The line itself has not yet jelled as a unit, though again this past week saw improvement in that area.

It’s vital that the line get its act together, because Josh McCown is not known for his scrambling ability.

Actually, McCown is really just known for one good season under a much different system. While many are buying into him, we’re not sold that he’s going to be able to replicate his success under Marc Trestman’s system in Chicago, down in Tampa Bay with Jeff Tedford.

Could Mike Glennon build on last year if given the chance? We think he could, we just don’t know if he’ll get the chance with the new regime.
