Rain came in during Tuesday night’s game at Wrigley Field and pretty much ruined everything. But nothing could dampen the spirits of Cubs catcher John Baker who entertained his fellow players by whipping out a guitar and playing some tunes.

More from Chicago Cubs

That’s what happens during a four-hour delay. Guys find ways to liven things up. Good thing Baker had the guitar in his locker.

Even John Baker’s merry guitar playing couldn’t cheer up the Giants, who were quite annoyed to have to sit there for four hours only to lose the game.

The Cubs led 2-0 when the sudden downpour arrived in the fifth inning, taking the grounds crew totally by surprise. The weight of the water on the tarp prevented the field from being completely covered and the infield dirt basically became a muddy soup.

For four hours the valiant grounds crew fought to dry off the infield, but to no avail. The game was finally called and the Cubs were given the win.

And future generations shall sing songs and tell tales of the night the rains came and washed away the Wrigley infield.
