Johnny Manziel and 15 NFL players sure to disappoint in 2014
13. Aqib Talib, Denver Broncos
Talib, 28, signed a six-year deal worth as much as $57 million this offseason after making the Pro Bowl with the New England Patriots.
I worry his four interceptions last year and 13 passes defensed were as a result of Talib being in his contract year. He had two down seasons from 2011-2012 when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave up on the former first round pick who also has off-the-field baggage and miraculously turned it around when his contract was up.
The Broncos made upgrading the defense a priority in the offseason after losing in the Super Bowl and rightfully so, but Talib was a consolation prize after losing out on the Darrelle Revis sweepstakes.
Talib can be a great player as he showed last year when he’s dedicated, but will he be focused after getting $26 million in guaranteed money in March?
