NFL Rankings: 10 best tight ends in the league
By Brad Rowland
7) Jordan Cameron, Cleveland Browns
With the well-documented quarterback issues for the Cleveland Browns, it wasn’t easy for Jordan Cameron to emerge as a high-end target in 2013, but he certainly passed the test with flying colors. Cameron finished second in the league among tight ends, behind only Jimmy Graham, in receiving yards with 917 last season, and he caught 80 balls to go along with seven touchdowns.
Cameron was certainly the beneficiary of increased attention on Josh Gordon as the season went along and he fit the profile of a “boom or bust” player, but with some progression, he could make a jump into the elite tier from a pass-catching perspective. Unfortunately for Cameron, he is a well below-average blocker at this stage in his career, and that is the one thing (other than track record) that holds him back from a full-on explosion.
