Starters with Upside

4. player. 42. Davis was the #2 fantasy TE last season behind only Graham.  He and Colin Kaepernick were definitely well-connected especially in the red zone where he was San Francisco’s primary target in the passing game.  Davis could be in for a bit of regression, though, simply because the rest of the 49ers receiving weapons have improved with the addition of Stevie Johnson and the return of Michael Crabtree.  I still think he’s a solid TE1, but his looks in the middle of the field could come down a bit even though he’ll still be a nice red zone threat.. TE. San Francisco 49ers. Vernon Davis

Dennis Pitta. 5. player. 26. I wrote about Pitta as a sleeper that I love yesterday. You can find more on him by <a title=. TE. Baltimore Ravens

player. 60. Another sleeper at TE that I think is set up well for a big season is Rudolph who has the tools to be a top 5 option but hasn’t gotten opportunities due to injury and QB issues.  Matt Cassel has looked decent this preseason, but the big reason I like Rudolph is the arrival of offensive coordinator Norv Turner who oversaw the Jordan Cameron breakout last season and has a history of making tight ends into fantasy gold. He’s higher risk than Pitta based on his lack of track record, but he has some very nice upside as well.  If you go with Rudolph as your starter, make sure to invest in a solid backup due to his high risk factor.. TE. Minnesota Vikings. Kyle Rudolph. 6

Jordan Cameron. 8. player. 53. Cameron was a monster last season for the first half of the year, but then struggled down the stretch as teams focused more on taking him out of the game. He’s in a new offensive scheme this season and there are well-documented QB issues.  Without a solid receiving corps pending the Josh Gordon ruling, whoever is at QB will probably throw him plenty of passes keeping him as a TE1, but there is definitely some regression probably coming from last year’s hot start.. TE. Cleveland Browns
