NFL season predictions and award winners for 2014-15
By Josh Sanchez
AFC Champion
Allen: Denver Broncos. Following last year’s embarrassing loss to the Seattle Seahwaks, the Denver Broncos only appear to have gotten stronger. An impressive offseason, combine with new NFL rules that will punish defenders that so much as try to lay a finger on Denver receivers, has set the table for a Broncos return to the Super Bowl. And this time, they’ll probably win it. Is it fair? No. But take it up with the NFL.
Sanchez: New England Patriots. Tom Brady and company find their way in the mix for the AFC title every single year, so why should 2014 be any different? New England went out and added Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner to the secondary in the offseason, which should free up star safety Devin McCourty to roam center field and have another great year in Foxboro. On offense, Brady will do his thing and lead the Patriots over the Broncos in the AFC Championship Game.
Dyce: Broncos. Their potent offense is back and they simply needed to upgrade on defense. They were aggressive in free agency to bolster that unit, proving that they’re all in on Peyton Manning leading this team to a Vince Lombardi trophy and their focus on defense will pay dividends.
Jorgensen: Broncos. The defensive additions were enough to ensure they will return to the big game.
Hill: Patriots. Just like last year, Tom Brady is going to do a lot with a little — except he has a little bit more than he has in 2013. Rob Gronkowski coming back shouldn’t be discounted as it’s possible the Patriots beat the Broncos if Gronk plays in the AFC title game last year.
