New York Giants

The Giants have been wretched offensively in the preseason. Long-time offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride is out in favor of Ben McAdoo and a west coast scheme, and while that would seemingly fit the personnel better, it hasn’t clicked yet. However, I’m still not terribly worried.

Rashad Jennings should be an upgrade at running back, the receiving crew can’t be worse than last season, and frankly, neither can Eli Manning. The offensive line saw Chris Snee and David Diehl leave for greener pastures, leaving an area of concern, but on the whole, the personnel is far better than their 31st-ranked DVOA from last season suggests.

Defensively, there are no real stars, and that limits the upside. Justin Tuck is gone, and while they added Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, they’ll need the “good” version of DRC to get much done. The Giants could be average defensively, but if that is all they are, the offense will need to be much better to avoid a dip from last season’s 7-9 record.

The Pick: 7-9
