The Armchair Quarterback’s guide to the NFL Week 1
Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Rams
I’m not sure what it says about Sam Bradford that my overall view of the Rams hasn’t changed drastically when they were forced to go with veteran Shaun Hill after Bradford got hurt. They’re still a run first team with the best defensive line in football. As a KC fan, I know what Matt Cassel looks like when he’s constantly under pressure and it’s not pretty. I think the Rams defensive line can limit Adrian Peterson and get after Cassel enough to pull out a close one.

San Francisco 49ers at Dallas Cowboys
This is another really interesting game. The 49ers have lost a lot on defense to injury, suspension, and free agency. Will they still be an elite unit on that side of the ball with all they’ve lost? While I think they may take a step back this season, I do like how their defense matches up with Dallas in this game better than how Dallas’ defense does against the 49ers attack. Tony Romo has enough weapons at his disposal to keep this close, but ultimately I don’t have any faith in the Dallas defense to win this one. I think there is a bit of a role reversal for the 49ers in this game as their offense carries the defense to a victory in Dallas.
