Chris Johnson

Tennessee Titans to New York Jets

Chris Johnson has been one of the greatest home run hitters in the NFL. I say home run because anytime Johnson touched the football for the Tennessee Titans, he was a threat to score. As a player, his abilities as a home run hitter are second to none.

On the field he could rush the football and catch balls out of the backfield. One of the most impressive moments that Johnson had while playing for the Titans was running for 2,000 yards in a season. Accomplishing this feat leaves Johnson as only one of seven players in NFL history to ever amass 2,000 yards rushing in a season.

This year the Titans released Johnson. Tennessee was a place he called home for over six years. The team that acquired him was the New York Jets. Not only will Johnson have the opportunity to play for a bigger market team, he will have his skills awed and marveled playing for the Jets.

One of the reasons why Johnson will produce is because of the system that he is in. Jets head coach Rex Ryan believes in running the football and playing defense to win games. His philosophy is what made LaDainian Tomlinson a factor at age 31, and allowed the Jets to play in two AFC Championship games.

With Johnson now running the football for gang green, he will be one of the focal points of the offense be featured as the man to take pressure off of second year Quarterback Geno Smith.
