The Minnesota Vikings took advantage of an embarrassing effort from the St. Louis Rams in Week One on their way to a 34-6 romping.

Minnesota got a huge performance from wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, who actually led the team in rushing with 102 yards and a touchdown on just three carries. How rare was Patterson’s rushing performance?

In the passing game, Patterson hauled in three catches for 25 yards.

Minnesota could use some work extending their drives by converting on third-downs, but when you have a big play threat like Patterson breaking out in the opener there is more reason for celebration than concern.

It will be interesting to see how Minnesota fares against the New England Patriots next weekend.
