With the 2014 NFL season now fully underway after the full slate of week one contests, we can begin to fully evaluate teams based on actual performances from the current campaign. The NFL is, without question, a year-round sport at this stage, but for every pundit digging in on a player-by-player basis for projection, there are 50 “experts” simply projecting their own biases from previous seasons on to present-day circumstances.

The past is gone, and the present is here, and while the NFL certainly doesn’t measure up to college football in the level of discourse between “conferences”, it is time to rank the eight divisions in the league. Each week, we will line up the eight divisions based on the performance and evaluation of all four teams, and as such, the division at the “top of the mountain” will be fluid throughout the year.
