7) AFC South

If we took a deep dive into the divisions prior to the season, the AFC South likely would have ranked at the bottom, and a positive week from two of their franchises doesn’t wholeheartedly change that. On the positive side, both the Houston Texans (17-6 over Washington) and Tennessee Titans (26-10 over Kansas City) grabbed victories despite entering each game as the underdog, and there could be real momentum in both locker rooms.

However, the projected victor in the division, Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, took a hit in primetime on Sunday evening during a somewhat lopsided loss to the Denver Broncos, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are, well, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Even the positives from the division did not come without roadblocks, as the Texans have lost top overall pick Jadeveon Clowney to a knee injury, but when the “top dog” in a division that needs help at the top drops their opener in convincing fashion, the profile of the group dips a bit.
